radio gaga

We must admit, we weren't too keen on Lady Gaga's debut single, "Just Dance".  It was fine.  A dark, little, 80s retro, disco bauble.  We much prefer the follow up, "Poker Face".  But we think the third single, "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" is the real winner.  It's got "1980's" written all over it in pink neon spray paint!  In fact, we've had it on constant repeat in The Rewind office.

It kinda reminds us of the video for "Cruel Summer" by Bananarama.  It's got a similar "ladies about town" vibe.

And then we got to thinking that Lady Gaga's 80s obsession seems to go a bit deeper.  Don'tcha think Ms. G looks like a combination of Pete Burns from Dead Or Alive and Taylor Dayne?  You do the math.....

While we're reminiscing about the 80s, be sure to check out Time Life's music collections from the decade that gave us parachute pants and the Rubik's Cube. They're available in two, delicious flavors - "Superstars Of The 80s" and "80s Music Explosion".

"Superstars Of The 80s" is available as a standard 10 CD set or as an 15 CD super set! The informercial was hosted by news man, Huey Lewis.

"80s Music Explosion" is also available in two varieties - the standard 10 set or a MASSIVE 18 CD mega set. That's more 80s music than you can shake a stick at!  The lovely Belinda Carlisle, sans Go-Go's, hosted that exquisitely produced infomercial.

You'll find plenty of Bananarama, Dead Or Alive and Taylor Dayne, as well as Phil Collins, The Human League, Tina Turner, Duran Duran and much more. Lady Gaga?  Not so much.
