Here's a short, teaser clip about Time Life's latest infomercial collection, "Billboard #1 Hits Of The 70s". The title is pretty self explanatory. But if you need a little more to chew on, give the clip a twirl.

Here at The Rewind, we're always looking to bring you exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage from our many programs, products and infomercials. It's not always easy. Some people just don't do anything that funny!
David Cassidy definitely does not fall into that category. During the recent shoot for "Billboard #1 Hits Of The 70s", David couldn't stop making us LOL.

Cassidy continued
Before I could start another informative post on Time Life's forthcoming infomercial, "Billboard #1 Hits Of The 70s", hosted by David Cassidy, I got numerous messages asking to divulge the deets.Well, here's the skinny. The collection features 140 #1 hits spanning the entire decade - 1970 through 1979. Each hit has been certified #1 by Billboard magazine. The music is spread across nine CDs. As an added bonus, there is a special 10th CD featuring 16 hits that peaked at
#2 on the Billboard charts. You won't believe you eyes and ears when you check out these amazing songs that missed #1 by a thread.
Each and every CD features a diverse array of artists covering many different genres and styles. Some of the songs are classics that have been woven into the fabric of our lives. Others have all but faded into obscurity and hearing some of them again will bring a smile to some people's faces.
The collection includes superstars like ABBA, Bee Gees, Cher, Hall And Oates, Elton John and Donna Summer. Then there's one hit wonders like Debby Boone, Bo Donaldson And The Heywoods, Carl Douglas, First Class, The Shocking Blue and Starland Vocal Band.

Mix it all together and you have the most comprehensive collection of #1 hits of the 70s ever assembled.
The bonus disc of #2 hits includes 16 songs you would probably bet went to #1. But you'd be wrong. You could be forgiven for thinking such crazy thoughts, though. Who would've guessed that "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge and "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc weren't chart toppers? You can rest easily knowing the truth.
So, tune in and turn on with David Cassidy for the best collection of #1 hits ever! It's "Billboard #1 Hits Of The 70s". What are you waiting for? Order your copy now! Operators are standing by.

that 70s show
On September 25, 1970, the world was introduced to Keith Partridge and his all singing family. Nearly 40 years have passed since David Cassidy stepped on stage and into our homes. Shortly after their television debut, David and The Partridge Family secured a #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1971.
In honor of that iconic hit song, Time Life have partnered with Billboard magazine to celebrate a decade of #1 hits. You see, at Time Life HQ lots of us sit around, drink coffee, eat donuts and throw ideas around - and sometime donuts, too, depending on how bad the idea is - in order to come up with fabulous products for music fans around the world to enjoy.
One day, while sitting around the conference table, a couple of use realized we never put together a giant set featuring only #1 hits. It's one of the few concepts that has never been done. Working with Billboard was a natural decision since they've been charting the hits of the rock n' roll era since 1955. After all, they are THE authority on #1 hits.
So, we made some calls. And before you know it, we struck a deal with the fine folks at Billboard magazine. Then we had to figure out which decade we would focus on. We threw some little pieces of paper in a hat and out came the 1970s! The more difficult task was figuring out who would be the perfect spokesperson for the decade that gave us Watergate, disco, "Welcome Back, Kotter", ABBA, avacado colored kitchen appliances, wood paneling and bell bottoms.
After much consideration, extensive research and numerous man-on-the-street interviews, we determined David Cassidy was exactly the right host to represent the music of the 1970s in one of our award winning infomercials.
So, catch David Cassidy, along with his co-host, Erica Shaffer, as they present "Billboard #1 Hits Of The 70s". The infomercial will launch on all fine television networks on February 3. Don't miss it! More about this exciting project to follow.....
